In occasion of the Gallery Weekend in Berlin from 2 - 4 May 2014 will be a concert at the DAM GALLERY with the icelandic cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir.

Hildur Ingveldardóttir Guðnadóttir studied cello at the Reykjavík Music Academy and musical studies/ composition and new media at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Berlin University of the Arts. 

Hildur has released three critically acclaimed solo albums: Mount A (2006), Without Sinking (2009) and Leyfðu Ljósinu (2012). Her oeuvre includes collaborations and projects with among others Skúli Sverrisson, Jóhann Jóhannsson, múm, Schneider TM, Angel, Pan Sonic, Hauschka, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Jamie Lidell, The Knife and Fever Ray. Hildur Guðnadóttir is a member of Kitchen Motors, a Reykjavík based think tank, record label and art collective.

As a composer she has written music for theatre, dance and film, as well as pieces for chamber orchestra, voices and electronics. She likes to explore the nature and movement of sound, and often turns her experiments into sound- and visual installations. Together with Throbbing Gristle, she co-composed a live soundtrack to Derek Jarman's 1980 film In The Shadow of The Sun.
